What Is Heybase?
The Heybase app is easy to use, and our review unit was up and running within minutes. You create “rooms” (that’s what the app calls displays) filled with content.
One that I tested was a sales center with lots of high-quality videos demonstrating how to use the product, links to additional product videos, and product images. The videos played automatically as the visitor scrolled through the room, and the visitor could pause, jump ahead, or rewind. You also can embed videos in a Heybase room from YouTube, Vimeo, or Dropbox.
It’s easy, too. Adding videos from Dropbox takes just a few clicks, and embedding from YouTube, Vimeo, and Dropbox takes as few as three. Each video is displayed in Heybase at a resolution of up to 1920×1080 (the native resolution of the Heybase screen). I found no noticeable quality difference when the resolution was adjusted. The Heybase app also lets you customize each screen, with colors, videos, and pictures. You can customize the room layout, too.
You can position the screen at a fixed height or allow visitors to adjust it to their preference. Heybase also offers a free plan, if you need to try it out without spending any money. The paid plans start at a reasonable $4.99 per month for 10 rooms.
